A great fine-dining experience is nice to have, whether you’re a regular patron at Michelin-starred restaurants in Mosman or just looking to have a fancy meal every now and then around Cremorne. Here’s my favourite fine-dining restaurants around Sydney’s Lower North Shore area.

Located by the Balmoral beach, Public Dining Room provides you with the waterfront dining experience in a Scandinavian-inspired setting. The sous vide salmon and the seared scallops are the highlights – be sure not to miss them.

Also facing the Balmoral beach, the Bathers’ Pavilion offers a la carte menu as well as five- and seven-course degustation in a historic 1920s building. You can also choose from an extensive list of wine to accompany your meal.
- Sails on Lavender Bay

Sails offers seafood served with a twist on classic French cooking techniques. The menu is changed periodically, but the quality of the fish (such as barramundi) and prawn dishes has always been a reassuring consistency. With great views of the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge, this restaurant provides an unforgettable experience.

Serving contemporary Italian cuisine, Ormeggio has been awarded two Chef’s Hats in the Sydney Morning Herald’s Good Food Guide 2016 and ranked #25 in Gourmet Traveller’s Australia’s Top 100 Restaurants. Make sure to have their beef-based dishes, or try out the surprise five course dinner set on Sundays!

Located above the North Sydney Olympic Pool and (almost) under the Harbour Bridge, Aqua Dining is also bestowed with two Chef’s Hats. The place serves from two to four courses. Although the food portion is a bit small, the dishes are beautifully plated and tasty. Highlights include the Charcoal Black Angus, which is tender and juicy, and the variety of desserts.
